The Antioch Police Station & Enhanced 911 Center

In March 1993, the Antioch Police Department became a part of the Lake Country Enhanced 911 system . The Antioch Police Department has a state-of-the-art  911 center -- one of the most sophisticated 911 centers in the State of Illinois. Antioch became one of four PSAP's (Public Safety Answering Points) located within the County. The Telecommunications Department has a CAD (computer Aided Dispatch) system in which police calls for assistance are transmitted via computer to a MDT (Mobile Data Terminal) installed in all squad cars. This computer system helps to eliminate much of the voice transmission when police assistance is needed and also displays the address of the person calling in an emergency. The Telecommunications department consists of 10 full-time Dispatchers in 3 shifts, a Supervisor and a Director of Communications. All dispatchers are trained to give pre-arrival instructions that pertain to certain types of calls. They are also EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) trained and certified to provide assistance such as CPR and child-birth over the telephone.  The Antioch Police Department dispatches for the Police Departments of Antioch, Lake Villa, and Lindenhurst - along with fire and rescue departments of Antioch and Lake Villa. The 911 Center serves 65,000 residents in these three communities.  The Antioch Police Department currently employs 11 911 dispatchers.

If you have recently moved into a new home, apartment, etc. we suggest that you dial 911 to ensure that your address information is sent correctly to our system.

If you misdial 911, stay on the line and speak with the dispatcher. We need to verify that the call is not an emergency. If you hang up and we are unable to call you back, Police officers will be sent to your residence to check for your safety.  Remember to teach your children what 911 is for and when they should use it.
